CAMBRIDGE, Iowa—The youth group from Faith Baptist Church conducted a weeklong youth soccer camp for Resurrection Baptist Church in Woodbury, Minnesota. Resurrection Baptist, pastored by Steven Gilbertson, is a newer church plant in the Twin Cities area and welcomed Faith Baptist’s team of 20 leaders and teens.

It addition to teaching the campers soccer skills, the teens presented the gospel and shared their testimonies throughout the week. At break time, Pastor Doug Brown of Faith Baptist Church talked about Jesus’ ministry from the Gospel of John. One day one of the children asked excitedly, “Are we going to learn more about Jesus now?”

About 25 campers, most of whom were from the community rather than from Resurrection Baptist Church, attended the camp throughout the week. Gilbertson says he would love for this ministry to continue in future years. The camp has already built much goodwill for the Woodbury community and provided Steven and Priscilla Gilbertson with many good contacts for the church.
